Paternity DNA Testing

When questions arise, clarity matters. A paternity test helps confirm if a man is the biological father of a child.

At Purpose DNA & Health, we provide accurate, private testing with care and professionalism

Reasons People Choose Paternity Testing:

Child Support or Court Cases

Used to provide legal proof of biological fatherhood for custody, child support, or court requirements.

Personal peace of mind

Helps individuals get clear answers about paternity in a private and stress-free way.

Family planning and understanding

Supports informed decisions about family relationships, medical history, and future planning.

Testing Options:

Legal DNA Test

A legal DNA test is used when results need to be accepted by the court. The process follows a strict chain of custody, meaning identification is verified and the sample is handled properly from start to finish. This ensures the results can be used for child support, custody, or other legal matters.

Non-Legal DNA Test

Apparently we had reached a great height in the atmosphere, for the sky was a dead black, and the stars had ceased to twinkle. By the same illusion which lifts the horizon of the sea to the level of the spectator on a hillside.

Legal DNA Test Requirements (Chain of Custody)

For legal DNA testing, strict procedures must be followed to ensure results are accepted in court.

Valid Identification Required:

All participants must provide valid identification at the time of testing.

  • Adults (18+):
    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport)
  • Minors (under 18):
    • Birth Certificate (preferred)
    • Social Security Card, Medical Card, or School ID (if applicable)
    • Parent or legal guardian must be present with valid ID

Photo Documentation:

A photo will be taken of each participant at the time of collection. This is required to verify identity and maintain proper documentation for legal testing.

Before Your Appointment:

To ensure accurate results, please follow these guidelines:

  • Do not eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum at least 1 hour before testing
  • For infants who are breastfed, please pause feeding before the appointment to avoid contamination of the sample

These steps help ensure a clean sample and protect the accuracy of your results.

What to expect:

Quick cheek swab collection

The test is done using a simple cheek swab. A soft swab is gently rubbed inside the cheek to collect DNA. The process is quick, painless, and does not involve any needles.

Appointment takes about 15–30 minutes

Most appointments are completed within 15 to 30 minutes. This includes check-in, identification (for legal tests), sample collection, and answering any questions you may have.

Results returned in a few days

After your sample is sent to the lab, results are typically available within a few business days. You will be notified once your results are ready and provided with clear, easy-to-understand information.
