Purpose DNA & Health LLC was founded in September 2024 by Cherell Evans, a Nationally Certified Phlebotomist with over 15 years of experience in blood collection and laboratory services.
The vision for Purpose DNA & Health came during Cherell’s time working at one of the largest laboratories while performing routine blood collections. During one particular moment at work, she clearly heard what sounded like a voice speaking in her ear saying, “Your purpose is in the blood.” That moment stayed with her and became the inspiration behind the company’s mission and the phrase that now represents the business:
“There Is Purpose In The Blood.”
Cherell believes that blood represents more than laboratory work. Blood represents life, health, and family connection.
This mission became even more personal while Cherell was caring for her mother during her battle with kidney failure. Serving as her mother’s caregiver deepened her understanding of how important it is for families to understand their health and support one another through life’s challenges.
During that same time, Cherell’s brother discovered through an ancestry DNA test that the man he believed to be his father was not his biological father. That moment revealed just how powerful DNA testing can be in helping families understand their true biological connections and history.
These experiences helped shape the vision for Purpose DNA & Health. Cherell believes that God provided everything she needed to start this company, even during a time when she had no savings. Through faith and perseverance, the doors and resources needed to begin this journey came together.
Purpose DNA & Health was created to honor God, remember Cherell’s mother, and serve families with care, professionalism, and compassion.
Today, Purpose DNA & Health provides professional DNA testing and blood specimen collection services for individuals and families throughout Greenville, Simpsonville, and surrounding Upstate South Carolina communities.
Cherell’s prayer is that her work will bless every person God sends to Purpose DNA & Health, providing answers, understanding, and support when it is needed most.

Education and Workforce Development
In addition to providing testing services, Cherell is passionate about helping others enter the healthcare field. She created a phlebotomy study community that helps students prepare for and pass the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.
Through this community, students receive study guidance, structured lessons, and support to help them build confidence and successfully complete their certification.

Cherell also holds a license in Life and Health Insurance, allowing her to assist individuals and families who may need guidance related to healthcare coverage and protection planning. While insurance is not the primary focus of Purpose DNA & Health, it reflects her broader commitment to supporting family health and long-term well-being.

Purpose DNA & Health continues to expand services to meet community needs. Mobile drug and alcohol testing services for businesses and organizations will be available soon, providing professional specimen collection for workplace testing programs.
